At Urban Horseman we teach all the basics of grooming, tacking horses up for riding and basic riding skills. At the end of the week there is a “demonstration-show” for friends and family, where kids can show off all of their newly acquired skills. Horse Camp is a great way to have fun, make new friends, and learn new skills on horsemanship. Ages 5 years and up.

Individualized Problem-Solving / Evaluation of Horses and Riders with
Gary Mullen, Ed.D.
Sunday, July 30th, 9am – 4pm

Gary will be offering one-hour time slots for private coaching /assessmentof horses and riders.

  • Training strategies best suited to each individual
  • Finding your horse’s special talents and purpose
  • Interpretation of your horse’s behaviors
  • Bit and tack for each individual horse
  • Rider’s position and functionality
  • Setting training and competition goals
  • Developing a happy horse that enjoys being ridden
  • Questions and answers on topics of concern


The Girl Scout Daisies

Girl Scouts’ founder Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low, believed in the power of every girl. She organized the first Girl Scout troop on March 12, 1912. The “Daisies” are the young (Grades K-1) girls experiencing the Girl Scout adventure for the first time.
At Urban Horseman, we are proud to part of that experience by introducing them to the joy of horses. The girls have great fun going through short individual lessons as well as walking and grooming the horses.

Indian Princess

The Indian Princess program is a wonderful event for where Fathers and Daughters participate in fun and educational activities while interacting with horses.
The program provides experiences for participants to reinforce awareness in family, community and nature.
The group comes to Urban Horseman for the “horse experience” which includes riding, grooming, and basic horsemanship.

Summer Horse Camp 2019

Urban Horseman puts on 3 to 4 horse camps per year, usually during summer months and one during Christmas break and Easter break. Horse camps are typically 5 days in duration, 5 hours per day of education, games, horse back riding on trail and in the arena. Horse Camp is a great way to have fun, make new friends, and learn new skills on horsemanship. Ages 5 years and up.

Birthday Parties
